Food Education & Awareness (FEA)
“Where meals turn into skills, and skills turn into life pathways.”
About the Program
The Food Education & Awareness (FEA) initiative was created to help individuals and communities build healthier relationships with food while developing practical life and wellness skills through engaging, hands-on experiences.
At E1T1, we believe food can do more than nourish the body—it can create opportunities for education, confidence-building, leadership development, and community connection. Our FEA programming is designed to meet participants where they are by offering multiple ways to engage based on their interests, needs, and level of involvement.
Through community cooking demonstrations, wellness engagement activities, nutrition education, healthy food sampling, workshops, and our Youthful Minds Cooking (YMC) cohorts, participants gain exposure to healthier food choices, culinary skills, teamwork, communication, and personal development in welcoming and supportive environments.
Some participants may attend a single demonstration or wellness event, while others may choose to continue into more structured hands-on learning opportunities through YMC cohorts and leadership development experiences. This flexible model allows E1T1 to serve schools, youth groups, families, housing communities, partner organizations, and community events in meaningful and accessible ways.
Our goal is simple:
To use food as a pathway for education, empowerment, wellness, and stronger communities.
